Public History Educators Meet Up: Improving Internships | February 12, 2025 at 3:00 pm EST

The Public History Educators Meet Up is an informal, 45-minute Zoom gathering, centered on an organizing question or theme and hosted by NCPH’s Curriculum and Training Committee. The meet ups will allow our greater community of public history educators from around the country to connect with each other, collaborate on challenges, celebrate triumphs, and continue to inspire each other. Join Dr. Anne Parsons on Wednesday, February 12, for a conversation about challenges facing students, faculty, and community partners with internships and how to strengthen them. Book Launch: An Introduction to Place-Based Disability History, an official National Park Service Handbook

May 15, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 12:30 pm EST | Hybrid online and Hyde Park, New York

We invite you to join the National Park Service as we celebrate publication of Introduction to Place-Based Disability History, the newest addition to the National Park Service History Handbook Series. We’ll kick off this book launch with a hybrid symposium at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site (HOFR) in Hyde Park, NY. public history hangout: theme and date TBA

Public History Hangouts (PHHs) are informal social gatherings hosted by NCPH’s New Professional and Student Committee every few months. While PHHs are usually tailored to be of particular interest to students and new professionals, all are welcome regardless of career status or NCPH membership status.
