Interpretation Intern
The Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site in Eads, Colorado, will hire two Interpretation Interns, one for 800 hours (20 weeks) and the other for 1200 hours (30 weeks). The successful candidates will assist the permanent staff with interpretation and education programs that enhance the visitor experience. They will work with park interpretation staff to engage visitors with 15- and 45-minute interpretive programs that prioritize Indigenous experiences and utilize primary sources, personal narratives, and material culture, and offer informal interpretive opportunities to visitors. Interns may also have the opportunity to help develop and implement a public outreach program for gateway communities, schools, and libraries, as well as long-distance programming for the interested public using digital meeting software.
To be eligible, applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old (or 35 if a veteran) when starting the internship, a post-secondary student (certificate program, 2-year, 4-year, or graduate level), or a recent graduate (within the past 12 months at the time of application), and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Pay Rate: $18.50/hour
