Program Introduction
Established in 1986, the Historic Preservation Program at University of Oregon is the preeminent Masters program west of the Rockies. The program offers a Master of Science in Historic Preservation, with cohorts of approximately 10 students per year. A Minor in Historic Preservation is offered to UO undergraduate students, and can lead to an Accelerated Masters Degree. Historic Preservation is located within the School of Architecture and Environment and has fostered connections with architecture, interior architecture, planning, landscape architecture, and others across the wider University with allied disciplines such as history, museum studies, and folklore.

Internship Requirements
A 120-hour internship is required for graduation. A Fall term, 1 credit hour, course supports students in preparing their internship application materials, and considering the learning objectives for the internship experience. Students select their own internship and are encouraged to seek and accept paid positions.
