A note on scheduling
NCPH’s annual meeting in 2027 overlaps with the important first days of Passover. We very much regret this conflict, and would have preferred any other dates, but we received only one hotel bid for St. Louis and the dates were not negotiable. We’ll have more to say on this over the coming months, but we didn’t want to launch the CFP without bringing attention to it. If selected for the conference, presenters observing Passover will have NCPH’s support in scheduling their session or presentation as best suits their needs.

Call for Speed Networking Professionals
NCPH’s Professional Development Committee is looking for public historians with five or more years of experience in the field (or in adjacent fields) to serve as Professionals in our Speed Networking event, held at our Annual Meeting each year. In 2027 this will be on Thursday, April 22, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, at the Hyatt Regency at The Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. Professionals sign up for the event via this form instead of via the conference registration process and communicate directly with NCPH’s Program Manager on logistics. As Professionals, you will be seated at a table with 3-4 Networkers (students and new professionals) to give career and conference advice for five rounds of networking.
Speed Networking Professional interest form: https://ncph.org/conference/ncph-2027/call-for-proposals/speed-networking/
(This is a rolling submission process, but volunteers received by November 18 will be listed in the preliminary conference program as presenters, while volunteers received after that date will be included in the final digital version in March 2027 and onsite in the print version.)
Call for Dine Arounds
NCPH Dine Arounds will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2027 at lunchtime (12:30 pm – 2:00 pm) and dinnertime (7:00 – 9:00 pm). You propose a topic to be the focus for a dinner conversation, select a nearby restaurant, make your group’s lunch or dinner reservation, and lead your group from the Hyatt Regency at the Arch to the restaurant. Interested participants then stop by the conference registration desk to sign up for a chosen Dine Around. Space is limited, but there is no sign up fee; however, all participants cover the cost of their own dinner.
To propose a Dine Around to lead, fill out this form: https://ncph.org/conference/ncph-2027/call-for-proposals/dine-around-proposal/
(This is a rolling submission process, but Dine Arounds received by November 18 will be listed in the preliminary conference program with their leaders as presenters, while Dine Arounds received after that date will be included in the final digital version in March 2027 and onsite in the print version.)
Call for Creatives
NCPH’s Creative Showcase is back! On Saturday, April 24, we’ll transform our Exhibit Hall into a Creative Showcase where public historians can show off your hobbies, side hustles, and creative pursuits. You can exhibit without selling, or you can vend your wares and send public historians home with some creative handmade souvenirs. Creative Showcase booths are free of charge, but you do need to submit an application form and be approved.
To apply for a Creative Showcase booth, please fill out this form: https://ncph.org/conference/ncph-2027/call-for-proposals/creative-showcase-proposal-form/
(This is a rolling submission process, but Creative Showcase submissions received and approved by November 18 will be listed in the preliminary conference program, while Showcase booths received after that date will be included in the final digital version in March 2027 and onsite in the print version.)
