Project Details

This online exhibit highlights the rich history of Minnesota’s Iron Range and features primary sources preserved and available in the digital collections of the Minnesota Digital Library (MDL). It also includes interactive storymaps showing the locations of several of the mines on the Vermilion, Mesabi, and Cuyuna Ranges. The exhibit demonstrates how mining became one of the major industries of the state, which led to the economic and cultural growth of the Iron Range region and beyond.
