The Carpenters’ Company of the County and City of Philadelphia is hiring a temporary part-time position to process the Company’s archival records salvaged from a fire at Carpenters’ Hall in December 2022. The records consist of approximately 50 linear feet of paper records from the 20th century in varying degrees of damage. All remaining physical records have been cleaned and preserved, although they remain delicate. Those records that were too damaged to be cleaned were digitized and are in possession of the Company. Records were loosely sorted into categories but still need to be put into their proper subcategories and checked for accuracy.

The part-time archivist will be tasked with sorting through the 31 physical boxes and reorganizing the records back into their existing record groups and series in chronological order. Subsequently, they will determine what is still missing from the collection.

Salary: $30/hour (Grant total $4,500)
