This position works with other members of the Planning team (12 members in total) under the larger umbrella of Aspen’s Community Development Department (Planning, Building, Environmental Health and Sustainability). Performs a variety of intermediate to senior professional level planning and zoning work, complex technical planning duties with an emphasis on historic preservation review; provides support and service to the public and Community Development Department consistent with the organization’s values and mission statement. This includes participating in zoning support, planner of the day, planning caseload, building permit review, and other special projects.

Hiring Range (DOE):

• Planner I: $33.95/hourly – $38.20/hourly [Non-Exempt]
• Planner II: $37.00/hourly – $41.63/hourly [Exempt]
• Senior Planner: $43.96/hourly – $49.46/hourly [Exempt]

Salary Range:

• Planner I: 33.95/hourly – $50.92/hourly [Non-Exempt]
• Planner II: $37.00 – $55.51/hourly  [Exempt]
• Senior Planner: $43.96/hourly – $65.95/hourly [Exempt]
