Tour shifts are 2.5 hours long and are offered in the afternoons throughout the year. We are looking for someone who could work 1-2 shifts per week (2.5-5 hours).

Qualifications: Applicants must have a passion for history, as well as knowledge about the layout of downtown Boston. Guides need to be reliable, outgoing, and comfortable speaking to groups of people. We will train you on the information you need, so applicants should be eager learners. No previous experience as a tour guide is needed. Once hired, we ask for a minimum six-month commitment to the job.

Pay rate per hour: $28-36

At time of application, all candidates must:

• be at least 21 years of age
• have a Bachelor’s degree in History or Public History. Bachelor’s Degrees in Art History, Political Science, Education, or American Studies will also be considered.
• be able to work consistently on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday afternoons
• have a surface-level knowledge of beer styles (specialist knowledge not required)
• live within 10 miles of Boston and have reliable transportation into downtown Boston
