Program Introduction
Established in 2018, the Public & Applied History concentration is one of five concentrations from which History majors and minors in our "specialist track" may choose. Students in the Public & Applied History concentration focus on debates in public history, including questions of history, memory, commemoration, and identity in the public sphere. They examine how we tell history in different places and for different audiences. They also apply their skills of historical analysis to address real-world problems - by curating museum exhibits, creating websites, interning in museums and archives, and more.
