Internship Requirements

Internships are arranged with the assistance of department faculty. We help students identify potential internship opportunities and secure internships that align with their professional goals and interests. Students are required to complete at least one three credit-hour internship, but can elect to complete two internship courses to count toward the major. Most internships are unpaid; however, the Peyton Scholarship Program in history at MUW offers funding for internships. Our students routinely complete internships around the state, region, and in national museums and archives with the help of a Peyton Scholarship. For more information about our internship program, please see: https://www.muw.edu/case/hpg/careers/historyinternships.
