Program Introduction
Established in 2003, the Public History program at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire offers both a graduate certificate and undergraduate emphasis within the major. The program provides students with broad exposure to the field as well as practical experience with community partners through coursework, internships, and field schools. The program also features domestic and international public history travel courses and seminars. Graduates have pursued careers in archives, historic site administration, museums, and consulting. The faculty includes two dedicated public history professors and the University archivist.
