Project Details

“Boston: A Suffrage ‘Hub’” is a digital project on Boston National Historical Park’s website. This platform shows Boston’s integral role in the U.S. women’s suffrage movement, which grew, in part, from the city’s abolition movement. The Hub contains suffrage-related articles, biographical portraits of suffragists and activists, a video series called “Defining Their Sphere,” and additional NPS resources on suffrage. The Hub also houses “Mapping Women’s Suffrage in Boston,” a digital mapping project that shows suffrage activity throughout the landscape of the city, particularly elevating the stories of Black women involved in suffrage and coinciding movements.
