Project Details

The North Florida Editorial Workshop engages students in the transcription and digital publishing of archival materials related to the history of the region. The project is associated with an undergraduate course on digital editing and digital archives at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, and involves collaboration with the UNF Digital Humanities Institute and the UNF Thomas G. Carpenter Library Special Collections, as well as various other local archives and historical societies.

This is an ongoing project that involves a new cohort of students each year, who produce their editions as part of a summer course. Student interns also complete semester-long for-credit internships in which they conduct additional editorial work and contextual research for the materials produced over the summer.
