PhiloBiblon is the corpus of the romance vernacular sources of medieval and early modern Iberian culture, both manuscript and printed, the texts they contain, the individuals involved with the production and transmission of those sources and texts, and the libraries holding them, along with relevant secondary references and authority files for persons, places, and institutions.

PhiloBiblon began as the Bibliography of Old Spanish Texts at the U. of Wisconsin, Madison. It has evolved over more than 45 years with the financial support primarily of the National Endowment for the Humanities and tens of thousands of hours of volunteer labor from hundreds of students and faculty, primarily in the U.S., Spain, and Portugal.
