• NCPH Committee Interest

Please fill out this form if you're interested in serving on an NCPH committee! Committee appointments are made in the late spring and early summer, so while this form will remain open year round for you to put forth your name at any time, you are unlikely to get a response until the time for appointments rolls around. (Please note that Board and Nominating Committee appointments are made via election by the membership, opening in November, and not via this form. To put forth your name for consideration for the Board or Nominating Committee, use this form instead.)
  • (It's fine to put "Public Historian," "Unaffiliated," or the title of your choosing if you are between positions, independently employed, or do not wish to link your committee service to your employment.)
  • Are you a longtime member? A recent conference attendee? Entirely new to the organization? Please let us know in a few sentences how and in what context you know us.
  • Please let us know in a few sentences what motivates you to serve on an NCPH committee. If you have a particular passion for an area of the field, an issue you especially want to advocate for, or a professional goal we can help you achieve, let us know here.
  • We maintain a list of our committees at https://ncph.org/about/governance-committees/board-of-directors-and-committees/. Not every committee has availability every year, and some committees have more interest than others. Please use this space to tell us your top three choices for committee service, and we will try to accommodate!
  • Accepted file types: pdf, doc, docx, Max. file size: 300 MB.
Feel free to upload a CV or resume in this field, though it's not required!
  • Thanks, we'll be in touch!

Committee appointments are made jointly by the organization's executive director and vice president. In most years new committee volunteers can expect to hear back by July 1.
