Salary Range

The Library of Congress seeks candidates for the Special Assistant to the Director for Preservation. The salary range for this position is $120,579 – $156,755 per year.

 

The Special Assistant to the Director for Preservation provides administrative and operational support in the day-to-day and the long-term management of the Preservation Directorate under the Associate Librarian for Discovery and Preservation Services, within the Library Collections and Services Group.  The Preservation Directorate is responsible for the long-term usability of the Library’s tangible collections, and encompasses four Divisions: Conservation, Preservation Research and Testing, Collections Management, and Preservation Services, together totaling about 180 staff.

 

The Special Assistant provides guidance and support in the form of program and project plans, reports, analytic studies, communications, correspondence, and memoranda on a wide range of complex matters to fulfill program goals and operational requirements. The incumbent coordinates requirements and serves as an expert on special projects, advising the Directorate management team on significant operational initiatives, goals, and process updates.
