NCPH statement on the overturning of Roe v. Wade

The National Council on Public History condemns the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overruling the federal protection of abortion rights in Roe v. Wade. The ruling is a violation of human rights and allows for people who can become pregnant to become second-class citizens under the law. We’re keeping a close eye on how this decision might impact our 2023 and 2024 annual meetings in Atlanta, Georgia, and Salt Lake City, Utah.
