Labor and Support

Six students spent 10wks over the summer, each working about 27hrs per week (for a total of 1,620hrs). Students gathered photographs from GPHS collections, and used city directories, census records, and newspapers to trace nine unique locations as they changed over time. Students worked with our community partner to follow up as needed. Dr Black shepherded the students’ research, provided feedback as they revised their writing, copy edited final texts, instructed the students on the technology, and otherwise supervised all aspects of the work.
