Project Details
The Capra Bailey Project introduces you to "Its a Wonderful Life" as historical immersion experience in both the American past and present. For the historically interested person, this website treats both the film and its script as an historical source as important as any presidential declaration or marker of historical significance. For the educator, this site gives special attention to how "Its a Wonderful Life" can help us understand democratic capitalism and the cacophony of debate that surrounds it. All of this leads to one important destination point: that "popular culture" is an essential meeting place and working place in any society that aspires to be and remain democratic.
