From Around the Field this week: The National Park Service is accepting applications for its Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Subgrant Program; the Organization of American Historians’ first session in their Lectureship Program series takes place this Saturday; Omeka is hosting a webinar next Wednesday; NCPH has released an updated Graduate Student Handbook.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- The American Historical Association welcomes submissions of op-eds, media appearances, or other resources that offer context and insight to the public on the recent actions by the federal government
- The American Historical Association welcomes submissions of articles and other resources tracking federal actions affecting history
- NCPH (that’s us!) has released an updated Graduate Student Handbook: Choosing and Thriving in a Public History Program
AWARDS AND FUNDING
- The National Park Service is accepting applications for its Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Subgrant Program, which supports the rehabilitation of historic properties to foster economic development in rural communities. Applications are due August 21, 2025
- The New York State Council on the Arts/Greater Hudson Heritage Network (NYSCA/GHHN) Conservation Treatment Grant is accepting applications to provide funds for objects held in collections of museums, historical, and cultural organizations in New York State. Applications close September 2, 2025
- The National Endowment for the Humanities is now accepting applications for funding through “Rediscovering Our Revolutionary Tradition.” Applications due September 4, 2025
- The Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) is accepting submissions for the 2026 ASALH Book Prize. Nominations due September 15, 2025
- The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) is offering 3 fellowships for visiting researchers of various topics, including public history. Applications are due October 15, 2025
- The American Council of Learned Societies is accepting applications for its Digital Justice Grants Program. Applications are due November 20, 2025
