From around the field this week: the State Historical Society of Missouri seeks nominations for multiple awards; the Association of Midwest Museums calls for proposals for annual conference; register now for The Dublin Seminar for New England Folklife’s conference, “Living with Disabilities in New England, 1630-1930;” the Costume Society of America is offering a virtual roundtable today, June 16.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- NCPH received thirty topic proposals from people looking for feedback or co-presenters for next March’s annual meeting in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. View the proposals and leave feedback by July 1 via https://ncph.org/phc/2022-annual-meeting-topic-proposals/. We recommend emailing the proposer directly with sensitive feedback or if you’re interested in joining their session.
- AASLH will publish Making History at 250: The Field Guide for the Semiquincentennial on July 1 as a resource for the history community to help think of guiding themes, goals, and ideas as the 250th commemoration of the United States approaches in 2026. AALSH will also host a live virtual event, “Making History at 250,” on July 1, 2021.
- The ARCUS Leadership Program (ARCUS) seeks a partner or new administrative home to continue providing leadership development to emerging leaders in the disciplines of applied history. Read the RFP at https://ncph.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/ARCUS_RFP_6-15-2021.pdf.
- The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has announced $51.6 million in emergency relief funding for state and jurisdictional humanities councils.

- The State Historical Society of Missouri is seeking nominations for the Missouri History Book Award, the Lewis E. Atherton Prizes, and the Eagleton-Waters Book Award, due June 30, 2021
- The deadline for the Istanbul Research Institute’s 2021-2022 grants is July 5, 2021
- Applications for the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s “New Directions for Digital Scholarship in Cultural Institutions” grant are due July 8, 2021

- The Dublin Seminar for New England Folklife will be virtually holding their annual conference, “Living with Disabilities in New England, 1630-1930,” June 25-26, 2021
- The Association of Midwest Museum’s virtual conference, “Museum’s Evolving,” to be held November 1-5, 2021, calls for session proposals (deadline is July 2, 2021) and expo proposals (deadline is July 30, 2021)
- The New Jersey Historical Commission calls for proposals for their virtual “2021 New Jersey History Conference” on November 12, 2021 (deadline is June 28, 2021)
- NCPH calls for proposals for our 2022 annual meeting, “Crossroads,” in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, March 23-26, 2022 (deadline is July 15, 2021)
- The American Society for Environmental History calls for proposals for their annual conference, “Disaster and Renewal,” in Eugene, Oregon, US, March 23-27, 2022 (deadline is July 16, 2021)
