From Around the Field this week: The National Endowment for the Humanities awarded $87.8 million in relief funding; the American Society for Environmental History is accepting applications and nominations for numerous awards and fellowships; MuseumNext published a free digital marketing guide for museums.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- The National Endowment for the Humanities announced that it has awarded $87.8 million in relief funding to almost 300 cultural and educational institutions across the country.
- Monument Lab, in partnership with The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, has completed the National Monument Audit, which includes a report, data search interface, and educators’ guide on the current monument landscape in the United States.
- The Oral History Association’s contract with Middle Tennessee State University will be over at the end of 2022, and they are searching for a new institution or organization to house its executive office.

- The Costume Society of America is accepting submissions for several awards, due October 15, 2021
- The National Endowment for the Humanities is accepting nominations for the National Humanities Medal, due October 15, 2021
- The State Historical Society of Missouri is accepting proposals for the 2022 Center for Missouri Studies Fellowships, due October 15, 2021
- The New England Museum Association is offering scholarship opportunities for their annual conference, due October 22, 2021
- The Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation is accepting applications for the Arthur Molella Distinguished Fellowship, due November 1, 2021
- The American Institute of Physics is offering grants for projects related to the history of physical science, due November 15, 2021
- The Institute of Museum and Library Services is offering six separate grants, all due November 15, 2021
