National Council on Public History

NCPH will host a Lincoln Home National Historic Site (NHS) working group at its annual meeting in 2023 to support the effective development of an administrative history for the site. NPS and NCPH, working with the convening scholar and group facilitator, will cooperate to design, execute, and report on a scholars’ roundtable at Lincoln Home NHS. Scholars and students of history will be invited to discuss and describe the overall history of the park, its origins, its nationwide context, and its history or stewardship and interpretation. This review will become the foundation for the subsequent preparation of an administrative history.

The 50^th Anniversary Symposium, titled the 2022 Lincoln Home NHS Symposium, was held in Springfield, Illinois on October 21-22, 2022. The program and photos from the event is available here. Christy Coleman's keynote address at the symposium can be viewed here.
