New NPSC Newsletter Connects Students and New Professionals

In June 2026, the New Professional and Student Committee (NPSC) launched its new digital newsletter, “In the Loop: Student & New Professional Dispatch.” While designed as a quarterly email for students and emerging professionals, all are welcome to sign up to receive this email!

Issues will include information about NPSC programming, internships and professional development opportunities, committee updates, and practical advice from committee members. View the first issue here https://ncph.org/6-29-2026_in-the-loop/ and sign up for the newsletter here https://ncph.org/subscribe-to-newsletter_v2026/

The inaugural issue highlights the committee’s recently updated Graduate Student Handbook: Choosing and Thriving in a Public History Program, a free resource for current and prospective graduate students. Readers will also find the newsletter’s new advice column, where NPSC members share insights on topics such as graduate school, internships, networking, conferences, and career development.

Beyond sharing resources and opportunities, “In the Loop” helps readers stay connected to ways of getting involved with NCPH. Several NCPH committees are currently seeking volunteers, including Long Range Planning, Development, Membership, Curriculum & Training, Diversity Travel Award, Book Award, New Professional Award, Robinson Award, and Student Awards. Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to learn more about opportunities to serve.
