- Celebrate National Historic Marker Weekend in your community Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27, 2025
- The University of Nebraska at Omaha Criss Library is conducting a survey on archivists teaching outside the archives and invite librarians and archivists to complete their survey by May 2, 2025
- The Council of Independent Colleges has published a report on the grants awarded to 49 independent colleges and universities through the Humanities Research for the Public Good (HRPG) initiative between 2019 and 2024 to support public-facing humanities projects

- Applications for the Cokie Roberts Fellowship for Women’s History to support research at the National Archives are due April 14, 2025
- The Western Historical Association is accepting applications for the Autry Public History Prize through April 15, 2025
- Sharing Stories from 1977 is forming an inaugural editorial board for their peer-reviewed, open-access website and seeks applications for editorial fellows from graduate researchers through April 15, 2025
- The Association of African American Museums is accepting nominations for their 2025 awards through May 15, 2025
- The Center for Archival Collections at Bowling Green State University is accepting applictions for their Access to the Archives Travel Grant through May 31, 2025
- The Western Historical Association is accepting applications for the Louise Pubols Public History Prize through June 30, 2025

- The Midwestern Archives Conference will hold its 2025 annual meeting, Serving It Up, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US, from April 10-12, 2025
- Seattle University calls for abstracts for a conference, Race, Racialization, and Resistance: Curriculum, Pedagogy, and Humanities, to be held in Seattle, Washington, US, April 25-27, 2025
- The Center for Cryptologic History and the National Cryptologic Foundation call for papers and posters for their 19th Cryptologic History Symposium in Laurel, Maryland, US, from April 30 – May 2, 2025

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
- Indiana University – Indianapolis Museum Studies Program will host “Museums in Uncertain Times” on Monday April 14, 2025 at 4pm Eastern
- The National Preservation Institute will host a session on Section 4(f) Compliance for Historic Properties in Montpelier, Vermont, US, from April 23-24, 2025
- The National Preservation Institute will host a session on Section 106: An Introduction in New York, New York, US, from April 28-29, 2025, and in Salt Lake City, Utah, US, from May 20-21, 2025
- Columbia University will host the NEH-funded Archives as Data – Summer Institute 2025 for historians and archivists in processing and analyzing textual data June 2-13, 2025 at Columbia University, New York City, New York, US. Master students through established scholars are encouraged to apply. Financial support may be available for those needing to travel
- Students completing their Master in Digital and Public History at the University of Luxembourg will host an online seminar, “Public history for contested and conflicting past(s),” on June 19, 2025. Proposals are due April 22, 2025
- The Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center will host a five day seminar, “Teaching the Holocaust” from July 14-18. A limited number of full and partial scholarships and travel stipends are available for those who qualify. Applications are due June 23, 2025
- The Preservation Institute Nantucket is now accepting applicants for their 2025 cohort. The program will run from June 9 – August 8 and is open to graduate students, upper-level undergraduate students, and recent graduates from any discipline and institution. Final application deadline is April 30, 2025
- The Buildings-Landscapes-Cultures Field School will host their Public Humanities Summer training weekdays from July 7, 2025 – August 1, 2025. Applications are due May 1, 2025
PUBLICATIONS
- Chapter proposals between 300-500 words for chapters of 6,000-8,000 words for an edited collection, Imagining Explorers: From National Narratives to Public History, Explorers and Exploration in the Public Realm, are due by April 15, 2025. All proposals are to be sent to both of the volume editors, Lauren Beck [email protected] and Lydia Towns [email protected]. Acceptance letters will be issued in early May, 2025. Full drafts will be due November 15, 2025, with a projected final submission to the publisher in Spring 2026
- Chapter Proposals for Labor Relations and the Creative Work: Arts on the Line are due June 15, 2025. Expression of interest is due April 15, 2025, with the final chapter submission deadline being January 31, 2026
