- NCPH will host a series of webinars through September 13-27, 2023 exploring the criteria outlined by Congress for designating World War II Heritage Cities
- The National Conference of State Historic Preservation requests proposals for three projects by September 14, 2023
- Ruth J. Simmons will deliver the 2023 Jefferson Lecture in the Humanities, “Facing History to Find a Better Future,” at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC, US, September 26, 2023 at 7:00 pm Eastern
- The Historical Materials Committee of the American Library Association is accepting nominations for their annual “Best Historical Materials” list through September 30, 2023

- The National Trust for Historic Preservation is accepting grant applications for their Preserving Black Churches project, deadline August 23, 2023
- The Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums is accepting nominations for their 2023 awards through August 28, 2023
- The American Council of Learned Societies is accepting applications for the ACLS Open Access Book Prize and Arcadia Open Access Publishing Award, due September 1, 2023
- The Lepage Center at Villanova University is accepting proposals for their “Cities in Historical Perspective” grants, due September 3, 2023
- Ohio History Connection is accepting applications for their Ohio History Fund Grants until September 12, 2023
- The State Historical Society of Missouri is accepting applications for their Richard S. Brownlee Missouri Local History Grant, through September 15, 2023
- The Institute of Museum and Library Services is accepting proposals for their National Leadership Grants for Libraries and Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program, due September 20, 2023
- American Council of Learned Societies announces 2023-2024 fellowships and grants, with applications due in September and October, 2023
- The National Humanities Center is accepting applications for their fellowship, due October 5, 2023
- The Dan David Prize is accepting nominations through October 11, 2023
- The National Endowment for the Humanities is accepting applications for their new grant program, “Dangers & Opportunities of Technology: Perspectives from the Humanities,” deadline is October 11, 2023
- The Organization of American Historians are accepting applications for multiple awards for graduate students through October and November, 2023
- NCPH invites nominations for our 2024 Book Award and 2024 Robert Kelley Memorial Award by November 1, 2023
- The Institute of Museum and Library Services is accepting applications for six of their grant programs: Museums for America, Inspire! Grants for Small Museums, Museums Empowered, National Leadership Grants for Museums, Museum Grants for African American History and Culture, and Native American/Native Hawaiian Museum Services. Applications for all six are due November 15, 2023
