- The Society of American Archivists seeks nominations for the 2025 Philip M. Hamer and Elizabeth Hamer Kegan Award through February 28, 2025
- The Society of American Archivists seeks nominations for their C.F.W. Coker, Waldo Gifford Leland, Preservation Publication, Archival Innovator, and Theodore Calvin Pease Awards through February 28, 2025

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
- The American Association for State and Local History will host “250 Con” virtually February 27-28, 2025
- The Organization of American Historians will host “Historians in a Time of Turmoil: A Member Forum and Listening Session” on March 3, 2025 at 7:30pm EST
- Invisible Histories will host “State of the Field” panel virtually March 5, 2025 from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM CST
- Columbia University will host the NEH-funded Archives as Data – Summer Institute 2025 for historians and archivists in processing and analyzing textual data June 2-13, 2025 at Columbia University, New York City, New York, US. Master students through established scholars are encouraged to apply. Financial support may be available for those needing to travel
- The Preservation Institute Nantucket is now accepting applicants for their 2025 cohort. The program will run from June 9 – August 8 and is open to graduate students, upper-level undergraduate students, and recent graduates from any discipline and institution. Final application deadline is April 30, 2025, with priority given to those who apply by March 1, 2025
- The Newberry will host an Intensive Language Study in Nahuatl/Nawat July 21-August 1, 2025. Applications are due March 15, 2025
PUBLICATIONS
- The South Carolina African American Heritage Commission calls for proposals for essays about how The Negro Travelers’ Green Book influenced South Carolina and its citizens, due March 7, 2025
- Federal History and the Society for History in the Federal Government opens submissions for its 2026 issue, due March 30, 2025
- Chapter proposals between 300-500 words for chapters of 6,000-8,000 words for an edited collection, Imagining Explorers: From National Narratives to Public History, Explorers and Exploration in the Public Realm, are due by April 15, 2025. All proposals are to be sent to both of the volume editors, Lauren Beck [email protected] and Lydia Towns [email protected]. Acceptance letters will be issued in early May, 2025. Full drafts will be due November 15, 2025, with a projected final submission to the publisher in Spring 2026
