- October is American Archives Month. The Society of American Archivists has compiled a list of activities and resources to celebrate
- The Conservation Center for Arts & Historic Artifacts is seeking input for their Cultural Stewardship Planning Initiative, fill out their survey by October 9, 2023
- In coordination with our cooperative agreement with the National Park Service, NCPH is accepting letters of interest for two projects. A Historic Resource Study Addendum on African American History at Paterson Great Falls Historical Park, with applications due October 15, 2023, and a Historic Resource Study of Petersburg National Battlefield, Eastern Front Unit, with applications due October 30, 2023

- The National Humanities Center is accepting applications for their fellowship, due October 5, 2023
- The Dan David Prize is accepting nominations through October 11, 2023
- The National Endowment for the Humanities is accepting applications for their new grant program, “Dangers & Opportunities of Technology: Perspectives from the Humanities,” deadline is October 11, 2023
- The Western History Association is accepting applicants for their NEH grant opportunity, “Spotlight on Humanities in Higher Education,” until October 18, 2023
- The Phillips Library calls for applicants for the Frances E. Malamy Research Fellowship of the Peabody Essex Museum by October 29, 2023
- The Organization of American Historians is accepting applications for multiple awards for graduate students through October 1 and November 1, 2023
- The Newberry is accepting applicants for their fellowships, with long-term fellowship applications due November 1, 2023 and short-term fellowship applications due December 15, 2023
- The National Historical Publications & Records Commission is accepting applications for three of their grant opportunities: Archival Projects, Public Engagement with Historical Records, and Publishing Historical Records in Collaborative Digital Editions. All three have deadlines of November 2, 2023
- The Rockefeller Archive Center is accepting applications for their 2024 Research Stipend through November 3, 2023
- NCPH invites nominations for our 2024 Book Award and 2024 Robert Kelley Memorial Award by November 1, 2023 and our other awards by December 1, 2023
- The Institute of Museum and Library Services is accepting applications for six of their grant programs: Museums for America, Inspire! Grants for Small Museums, Museums Empowered, National Leadership Grants for Museums, Museum Grants for African American History and Culture, and Native American/Native Hawaiian Museum Services. Applications for all six are due November 15, 2023
- The American Council of Learned Societies is accepting applications for their two Digital Justice Grants, Digital Justice Seed Grants and Digital Justice Development Grants, through December 15, 2023
