ANNOUNCEMENTS

• NCPH will host a virtual Public History Hangout to discuss the process of participating in the poster session at our 2024 conference and applying for our travel and project awards on September 14, 2023
• The National Conference of State Historic Preservation requests proposals for three projects by September 14, 2023
• Ruth J. Simmons will deliver the 2023 Jefferson Lecture in the Humanities, “Facing History to Find a Better Future,” at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC, US, September 26, 2023 at 7:00 pm Eastern
• The Historical Materials Committee of the American Library Association is accepting nominations for their annual “Best Historical Materials” list through September 30, 2023

• Ohio History Connection is accepting applications for their Ohio History Fund Grants until September 12, 2023
• The State Historical Society of Missouri is accepting applications for their Richard S. Brownlee Missouri Local History Grant, through September 15, 2023
• The Institute of Museum and Library Services is accepting proposals for their National Leadership Grants for Libraries and Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program, due September 20, 2023
• The Lepage Center at Villanova University has extended the deadline for proposals for their  “Cities in Historical Perspective” grants to September 25, 2023
• American Council of Learned Societies announces 2023-2024 fellowships and grants, with applications due on September 28, 2023
• The National Humanities Center is accepting applications for their fellowship, due October 5, 2023
• The Dan David Prize is accepting nominations through October 11, 2023
• The National Endowment for the Humanities is accepting applications for their new grant program, “Dangers & Opportunities of Technology: Perspectives from the Humanities,” deadline is October 11, 2023
• The Western History Association is accepting applicants for their NEH grant opportunity, “Spotlight on Humanities in Higher Education,” until October 18, 2023
• The Phillips Library calls for applicants for the Frances E. Malamy Research Fellowship of the Peabody Essex Museum by October 29, 2023
• The Organization of American Historians is accepting applications for multiple awards for graduate students through October 1 and November 1, 2023
• The Rockefeller Archive Center is accepting applications for their 2024 Research Stipend through November 3, 2023
• NCPH invites nominations for our 2024 Book Award and 2024 Robert Kelley Memorial Award by November 1, 2023 and our other awards by December 1, 2023
• The Institute of Museum and Library Services is accepting applications for six of their grant programs: Museums for America, Inspire! Grants for Small Museums, Museums Empowered, National Leadership Grants for Museums, Museum Grants for African American History and Culture, and Native American/Native Hawaiian Museum Services. Applications for all six are due November 15, 2023

• The Public History as the New Citizen Science of the Past will hold an online, international conference on the long history of public historical practices in Europe, September 14-15, 2023
• Flagler College will host their conference, “The Freedom to Teach: Confronting Complex Themes in Contested Spaces,” in St. Augustine, Florida, US, September 28 – October 1, 2023
• NCPH opened registration for the virtual, follow-up conference to our 2023 Annual Meeting, “To Be Continued,” October 4-6, 2023 (register by October 2, 2023)
• The Great Lakes History Conference will host their 2023 conference, “Division and Reaction,” in Grand Rapids, Michigan, US, October 5-7, 2023
• The American Historical Association will host their inaugural Utah Conference on Introductory History Courses in Salt Lake City, Utah, US, October 6-7, 2023
• The National Trust for Historic Preservation will host their 2023 National Preservation Law Conference in Washington, DC, US, October 10, 2023
