ABSTRACT
I wish to discuss the female figures of the American Revolution that performed daring espionage activity and risked their lives to help the Continental Army win the conflict.
DESCRIPTION
The goals of my proposal are to help museum educators, teachers, and historians understand the overlooked roles that women played in the American Revolution. Female espionage during the conflict was never discussed for a lengthy period of time and this discussion would help educators of all kind appreciate and value what these women did and why they did it. Without the daring efforts of these women, it would certainly be true that the war would have ended sooner rather than Cornwallis’ surrender.

Hello Aly,
I am very excited about this topic. Women being overlooked is a similar theme to my proposal and the discussion of this topic is much needed.
I love anything that is uplifting the roles of women, and wonder if there are a few other collaborators you could work with on this session–if that’s not possible, I would recommend reaching out to those organizing the public history showcase as a way to show this work.
