Multiple publications, including Public Humanities’ “How-To Issue” and the Annual Journal of the Association for Gravestone Studies, call for paper submissions and registration opens for the 2024 National Humanities Conference in Rhode Island, US.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Opportunity for Comment: The National Archives requests feedback for their updated bulletin on security classification metadata and transference, originally published in 2015. Feedback, questions, and comments should be sent by August 16, 2024.
AWARDS AND FUNDING
- Applications for the Massachusetts 250 Grant Program, recently announced by the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism to support state-based interpretation and programming on the American Revolution, are due August 26, 2024
- The American Council of Learned Societies is now accepting nominations for the Open Access Book Prize and the Arcadia Open Access Publishing Award Competition, with submissions due September 10, 2024
- The Organization of American Historians is accepting submissions for the 2025 award cycle, to be honored at their annual meeting in Chicago from April 3-6, 2025, with most submissions due October 1, 2024

- Latinos in Heritage Conservation will hold their annual conference, Congreso 2024, in San Diego, California, US, from August 8-10, 2024
- The Association of African American Museums will hold their 2024 conference, Acknowledging Legacy, Fostering Progress: Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, to be held in Baltimore, Maryland, US, August 13-16, 2023
- The Society of American Archivists will host Archives*Records 2024 in Chicago, Illinois, US, August 14-17, 2024
- The International Federation for Public History will host their 2024 World Conference in Belval, Luxembourg, September 3-7, 2024
- The American Association for State and Local History will host their 2024 conference, Doing History, in Mobile, Alabama, US, September 11-14, 2024
- Registration is now open for the Association of Public Historians of New York State’s 2024 Conference in Port Jefferson, New York, US from September 16-18, 2024
- The Midwest World History Association will hold their 2024 conference, Coming Together and Breaking Apart: Teaching and Scholarship on Contradictions, in Romeoville, Illinois, US, September 27-28, 2024
