From around the field this week: NCPH announces receipt of NEH grant, the Association of African American Museums invites proposals for their 43rd annual conference, the Society for History in the Federal Government announces upcoming Friday Colloquia in lieu of a 2021 annual meeting, and the American Association for State and Local History announces two webinars.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- NCPH announces receipt of a National Endowment for the Humanities Chairman’s Grant
- The Lepage Center for History in the Public Interest at Villanova University is soliciting institutional partners to host summer interns. Applications due January 15, 2021.
- The Society for History in the Federal Government (SHFG) will be holding Friday Colloquia in lieu of a spring annual meeting. In addition to several scheduled events, they are soliciting additional virtual talks, and several SHFG sessions will be available as part of Virtual NCPH 2021.
AWARDS AND FUNDING
- The National Trust for Historic Preservation is now accepting applications for the 2021 list of America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places. Submissions are due February 1, 2021.
- The Charles Redd Center for Western Studies is pleased to announce multiple awards for 2021 that are available for scholars, students, or organizations conducting research or producing public programming related to the Intermountain regions of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming. Applications are due March 15, 2021.
CONFERENCES AND CALLS
- The Society of Architectural Historians Latrobe Symposium on Race, Ethnicity, and Architecture in the Nation’s Capital will be held via Zoom February 2-26, 2021.
- Museum Advocacy Day, virtual, February 22-23, 2021
- General registration is now open for the National Council on Public History’s 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting, March 8-27, 2021
- The World History Association calls for proposals for their virtual annual conference “Health Globally” July 5-11, 2021 (deadline is February 1, 2021)
- The Midwestern History Association and the Hauenstein Center at Grand Valley State University invite proposals for papers to be delivered at the Seventh Annual Midwestern History Conference, to be held May 26-27, 2021, over Zoom Webinar (deadline February 5, 2021)
- The American Historical Association invites proposals for the 135th Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, US January 6-9, 2022 (deadline February 15, 2021)
- The Association of African American Museums invites proposals for their 43rd annual conference, “Sun, Soul, and Soil: Diasporic Blackness and Justice in Global Museums, Part Two,” in Miami, Florida, US, August 4-6, 2021 (deadline is March 23, 2021)
- The Conference on Illinois History is accepting paper or panel proposals and educator workshops for their 23rd Annual Conference in Illinois History in Springfield, Illinois, US, October 7-8, 2021 (deadline is May 1, 2021)
