- Digital Public Library of America to Open April 18th. Public historians will benefit from a national digital library knitting together the holdings of America’s research libraries, archives, and museums—online and free of charge.
- The Sequester Hits History. When we think about the budget mess in Washington, it’s easy to focus on how it affects what’s now and what’s next….
- Hiring a Co-Editor for The Public Historian. The Mid-Atlantic Regional Center for the Humanities is accepting applications for a Public Historian in Residence who will co-edit NCPH and UCSB’s journal.
- AASLH and NCPH Teaming Up in Birmingham. NCPH is providing its Poster Session model for the American Association for State and Local History’s 2013 conference in Birmingham, Alabama, this September–“Turning Points: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Events.”
NCPH CONFERENCE UPDATES
- Just 1 day left to register! Pre-registration for #NCPH2013 closes tonight, Wednesday, April 3, at midnight so don’t wait any longer.
- Funding opportunity for Canadian and non-North American students. The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) has awarded $2500 to distribute among a number of non-North American students, and $2000 to distribute among Canadian students, for attendance at the 2013 NCPH/IFPH Conference. The IFPH and NCPH gratefully acknowledge SSHRC’s support.
- Judge the NCPH Annual Meeting YouTube Video Contest! Entries are in, and now we need to know which is your favorite. View them here and cast your vote here. Voting ends April 3.

- Tickets for breakfast events, tours, and workshops (including THATCamp NCPH) are going fast. To add an event to your existing registration select the events you wish to add from the online store. (Please do not fill out another registration form.) Pre-registration is highly encouraged for these events; we cannot guarantee availability of tickets onsite.
