Digital history "genius bar" – Thursday afternoon in Milwaukee
16 April 2012 – Cathy Stanton
We’re trying something new at this year’s NCPH/OAH conference, with due acknowledgement to Apple: a “genius bar” of experienced digital historians who will be available to answer questions on a wide range of topics, problems, and platforms. Our “Digital Drop-In” can be found in Exhibit Hall D Foyer, near the registration area, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. It’s free and there’s no need to sign up; we’ll try to match people as quickly as possible on a first-come, first-served basis for 15-minute time slots (with the possibility of taking more time or queuing up to talk to a second expert if time allows).
Here’s the list of who will be fielding questions:
- Sheila Brennan (Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media), Jack Dougherty (Trinity College), Jordan Grant (American University), Elena Razlogova (Concordia University), Mark Tebeau (Cleveland State University), Suzanne Fischer (The Henry Ford), Trevor Owens (Library of Congress), Stephen Robertson (University of Sydney), Tim Roberts (University of West Florida), and Tom Scheinfeldt (Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media)
And here are the topics they’ll be able to help you with (unless otherwise noted, you can drop in anytime during the 1:30-4:30 p.m. time slot and someone should be able to talk with you about any of these):
