web pageMNopedia is a new born-digital, open-access encyclopedia of Minnesota. It is a project of the Minnesota Historical Society, one of the largest and oldest historical societies in the nation. Funding so far has come from a special statewide fund established in 2008 by the taxpayers of Minnesota, the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (ACHF), a portion of which is specifically dedicated to projects that preserve Minnesota’s historical and cultural heritage. The History of Medicine in Oregon Project launched a website this month. The project was created by the Oregon Medical Education Foundation in 2001, and joined in succeeding years by Oregon Health & Science University and The Foundation for Medical Excellence, to document and interpret the history of medicine in what is now the state of Oregon and to present that history to the medical community as well as the general public.
